In the first match of the day here at Potters Resort in the ‘Just’ 2018 World Indoor Championships it was England’s Mark Royal up against Scott Walker from Australia. It took the Australian a few ends to get into the match by which time Royal had forged ahead by end four to a 5,0 lead. Walker managed to get a good draw with last bowl to take a much needed single but again dropped his guard and Royal snuck in another triple to go 8-1 up going into the 6th end. Walker responded with a good conversion to take a triple on end 6 bur Royal polished off the set in the next two ends with a 3 and and a 1 to take the first set 12,4.
Going into the second set Walker opened up with a triple count but again Royal held him at bay taking the next 3 ends with 5 shots. Walker managed to pick off two singles to level the score 5 all in the 6th end but yet again Royal held him at bay over the remaining two ends to take the second set and match 10,5.
