e at Potters Resort in the Just Retirement World Professional Indoor Pairs Championship was quarter final 3 of the World Pairs and it was between Andy Thomson MBE & Mark Royal against the Welsh duo of Jason Greenslade & John Price. The first set opened with both pairs fighting to take control of the match and it was some brilliant bowls playing by Thomson as skip in the pair to take a lead of 6-3 in the 7th end. Greenslade & Price managed to sneak a single in the 7th leaving them needing a three to win the set but again it was Thomson that denied them and they ended getting a single only on the last end.
Into the second set and it was again the pairing of Rpoyal and Thomson that took the lead and never really let the Welsh pair into the set to go 6-3 up in the 6th end. Greenslade and Price managed to swipe a single on the 7th end but it was not to be as Royal & Thomson bagged a double on the 8th to take the set and match with a final scoreline of 6-5, 8-4.
