Thomson ends richardson’s run at scotland

The last game of the day saw three times World Champion and England International Andy Thomson face English qualifier Dave Richardson from Lewis. It was Thomson who took the first set 9.5. But he didn’t have it all his own way and Richardson played good bowls throughout. It was, however the more experienced Thomson who joins the quarterfinal line up for Thursday with a comfortable 9.5 8.3 win. There he will face the winner of one of tomorrow’s games either defending champion and World No 1 Nick Brett or 2013 World Champion Stewart Anderson.
