The first final of the Co-operative Funeralcare European Masters here at Blackpool Newton Hall Indoor Bowls Club between Connor ‘Ginja Ninja’ Cinato and Billy ‘The Magician’ Jackson proved to be a match of two halves in many ways. The first set proved to be the Ginja Ninja’s as he powered his way to a 5-0 lead by end 4, Jackson magicked a triple on the 5th end but then Cinato took another 3 shots in the next two ends to go 8-3 in the lead. Jackson managed to hold on to a single in the 8th but Cinato sealed his fate with a single on the 9th to take the first set 9-4.
Going into the second set it was 2 aa by the 3rd end and then Jackson waved his wand as he took 8 shots over the next three ends to go 10-2 up. Cinato did not play badly at all, but he just missed with drives and this was the difference as Jackson took the 2nd set 3-11. So into the tie break and it was Cinato that took the honours in the first end. Jackson magicked up some superb bowls and no matter what Cinato tried he could not get to the jack and Jackson took the next two ends and match to take the title of European Masters Champion No1 for the WBT season 2016-17 Ranking Events. 9,4 - 3,11 - 1,2
