Third match here today at the Co-operative Funeralcare International Open saw Wales’s Jason Greenslade face up to Canada’s Kody Olthof. In his home country Olthof’s nearest indoor facility is a 3.5 hour flight away and having flown all the way to the UK he made the most of his chances. In the first set it was a tight affair where Olthof took maximum advantage when a slightly out of form Greenslade just did not produce his best on the day. Greenslade only managed to take 3 ends of the first set and Olthof made the most taking the first set to a 9 all draw.
Into the second set and again it was Althof who managed to take away from Greenslade any hope of a tie break by taking full advantage of several very loose ends from a very clearly out of sorts Greenslade. Olthof took the second set 7-4 and goes into the second round here at Newton Hall.
