In the second of the opening World Indoor Pairs matches here at Potters Resort it was a much anticipated match between England duo of Mark Royal and Robert Paxton facing off against the highly successful duo from Scotland, Colin Walker and Ronnie Duncan.

But it was a very obvious power play from the English duo as they took a five shot score in the first end, followed by three shots in the second end. Over the next three ends though the Scots fought back to reduce the gap to 8,5. It was Royal and Paxton though that sealed the first set with another two singles 10,5.

Second set started and it was nothing short of a blitzkreig from Royal and Paxton as they opened proceedings with a count of six on the first end. This was followed up in fashion as they simply stormed through every end and left a stunned Scottish pair with a 15,0 scoreline in the second set. Royal and Paxton now go through to play David Gourlay MBE and Mervyn King on Saturday.
