Last match of the day was the last quarter final for the ‘Just’ 2020 World Indoor Ladies Matchplay here at the 5star Potters Resort and the winner was going through to the semi finals live on BBC TV next week. It was Nicole Rodgers, PBA Ladies ranked No 2, from Devon that was up against Marion Purcell, Welsh International and PBA Qualifier, from Wales.

Marion Purcell

From the outset of the start of first set it was Rogers that had the flow of the rink and no matter what Purcell put up it was Rodgers that finished it with dream quality bowls. So good was the match between them that the score by end five was only 3,3. It was Rogers that went on take the remaining ends in precision style against a well playing Purcell to take the first set 10,3.

Purcell took a superb single shot in end eight to level the set at 6 all. It was Rogers that managed to get the final bowl for a determined and hard earned single in end nine to seal the set and match for the last remaining place in the Ladies semis. 7,6.
