First match of the afternoon in semi final 1 of section 2 was between Blackpool’s Jason Parkinson and Perry Martin from Swale. Both players settled in straight away and neither were giving way to the other with scores being level at 3 all each on the 5th end. Parkinson picked up 3 shots in the next two ends but it was Martin that took two doubles in ends 8 and 9 to take the set 6-7.
Into the second set it was Martin from Swale that seemed to settle in quickly taking a 3-5 lead by the 5th end. He added another two singles in the next two ends going to 3-7 up. Parkinson tried to rally and took a double on the 8th leaving him needing a treble on end 9 to force the much needed tie break. It looked as if he was going to get it as Martin sailed past the head twice with Parkinson holding a double – it was Parkinsons last bowl just needing to gently oust one of Martins away to hold a count of three but it was not to be and it was Perry Martin from Swale that finds himself in tomorrows section final for a chance of the much vaunted Tourcard. Perry will meet the winner from Billy Jackson ( Lincoln & District)against Trevor Taylor (Cumbria).
