Quarter final one was an all English affair with Mervyn King playing Rob Paxton. King was frustrated in the first set and struggled for a consistent length. Paxton picked up a score of four at end two and stayed in control of the set from that point on. Paxton closed out set one 11.4 after eight ends
King rallied in set two and things were close all the way. After seven ends the scores were all square at 5.5. King desperate to see the game go to a tie break tried everything, but a loose end at end eight and a shot count of three for Paxton left King needing a four at the final end of the second set.
Not to be for King and Paxton takes the first place of the day in the semi finals 11.4 10.5.
