Ross OwenThe second semi final of the Under 25’s semi finals was between Tom Smith and Ross Owen and it was a cracking match between these two youngsters with it being Smith’s first time on such an arena he is to be complimented on how he played with camera’s, lights and action and glaring upon him. For Owen of course, he has been before, and then he was the upset for Paul Foster MBE !

Into the first set and it was a good scrap with the two being all level at end 5 with the score at 5 all. Smith took another 3 shots over the next two ends but it was Owen who then scored a full four on end 8 and then swiped another 2 to take the first set 6-9. Into the second set and it was another give and take between the two players but it was Ross that pulled ahead gradually and then at end 8 with the score sitting at 4-4 Ross played an astounding bowl to take another full house of 4 thus ending the possibility of Smith in winning the set to force a tie break. Ross took both sets 6-9, 4-8 and goes into the final to face Joseph Mower.
