Orr gets through to the Under 25’s final at potters resort

26 January, 2019

Second semi final in the Under 25 World Indoor Singles was between Dean Drummond from New Zealand and John Orr, who qualified from Falkirk in Scotland.

John Orr & Dean Drummond

It was Orr that settled in very quickly onto the portable rink, Drummond was clearly needing time to get to grips with it and Orr took full advantage. By end four he was 0,8 in the lead. Drummond though was getting the hang of the rink and took a great single away from Orr in end five but Orr then took a count of three away in end six leaving Drummond a large hill to climb. Drummond showed his mettle though as he took a single off Orr in end seven, not enough to get anywhere nearer taking the set though.

Second set and despite Drummonds more than valient attempts to stop Orr it was to no avail as Orr was in full flow. No matter what Drummond put down Orr was playing superb inch perfect bowls and he came quickly away with the second set to take the match 2,11 – 5,9
