Last match of the first day here at the Live Active Centre in Perth (Scotland) in the Co-op Funeralcare Scottish International Open was between Scotland’s renowned Alex Marshall MBE and Canada’s National Title Holder, Mark Sandford.
It was a very one sided affair as Sandford really did struggle on a strange rink and just could find a good rhythm to get into the match and to be fair to him, it was an on form Marshall that he came up against. In the first set Marshall was there to take every advantage from Sandford if he missed anything and quickly took the first set 14,1.
Despite everything Sandford put up a fair fight and did not let up in trying to wrest shots away but again in the second it was Marshall that just simply closed Sandford out and took the second set 11,3 and the match in a record time of 1hr 5mins.
