First match of the day here on Sunday in the Scottish International Open 2018 was between No3 on the European PBA Ranking list, Chris Gale from Blackpool up against World No 13, Mark Royal from Suffolk, England. It was Royal that got off to a flying start taking the first two ends with two doubles and playing such a high standard of bowls that Gale had to fight to get in! Gale scored a double in the 3rd end but after that it seemed as if Royal played like a man possessed as no matter what Gale produced Royal went one better! End 4 to end 7 Royal took it end after end and first set to Royal 12-2.
This incredible standard was repeated in the second set and again, no matter what Gale produced, Royal just went one better and he took the second set clean with a scoreline of 9-4.
