LeMessurier bows out of the Scottish Interntional Open

3 November, 2018

First match of the day here at Scotland’s Dewars Centre in Perth was between Seed No 6, England’s Nick Brett up against USA Qualifier Dan LeMessurier. LeMessurier had been practicing well on the portable and he started of great guns and it looked as if we had a great match on out hands. Taking a double off Brett in the first end and placing close bowls it was all that Brett could do to hang in but he did taking three singles over the next three ends. It was LeMessurier that took a single in end 5 to level the score at 3 all. Brett took a single on end 6 and LeMessurier seemed to suddenly struggle to get the right weight on his bowl. End 7 and the wheels came right off the wagon for LeMessurier as he lost his weight and dropped a full count of four. Brett saw he was struggling and piled on the pressure and took the first set with another double to close out the set 10-3.

Into the second set and straight away it was clear that LeMessurier was in serious trouble as he still could not find the right weight and a confident Brett just swept him aside to close him right out as he took the second set 13-3.
