Last two quarter finalists are decided

10 March, 2016

In the two morning matches in the Co-operative Funeralcare International Open here at Blackpool Newton Hall the last two places for the quarter finals were decided. Both matches were superb bowling and well worth catching up with on youtube.com/worldbowlstour. Darren Burnett was up against Mark Dawes in the first match and it was a nail biting affair which pleased the crowd as they saw Mark Dawes, their local hero, battle through and take the match in tie break. 7-3, 8-10, 0-2.

Second match was England’s Jamie Chestney up against 4 times World Indoor Champion and again was a match of superb bowls. Having qualified through the PBA qualifiers Chestney fought his way past Foster in an incredibly tight game to draw the first set and then hold off Foster in the second set to take the match 6-6, 9-7
