The last here in the International Arena at Potters Resort in the ‘[email protected] 2018 World Indoor Championships was the first round singles match of World Ranked No 14, Mervyn King, and PBA Qualifier Ian McIntosh from Carlisle. King got off to a great start going 6,0 up into the 4th end. McIntosh took the next two ends with singles. They both took a single apiece in the next two ends and then King sealed the first set with a single on end eight to take the set 8,3.
Into the second set and it was King that upped a gear and dominated the set totally. Only allowing the Cumbrian to take two ends and 4 shots it was King that took the second set and match 11,4. King said later,” I was pleased with how I played and feel very good about my performance out there today. I am looking forward to the rest of the event”.
