It was David Holt and Des Cann from Australia up against Ireland’s pairing of John McCullough & Roy Battersby and it was an exceptional performance from the Australian Duo that saw them take the first set in a stunning 8-3 scoreline.
Following on with this in the second set they defied the Irish Pair of McCullough and Battersby in almost every end. They only allowed the Irish Pair to get two ends and it was both ends where McCullough and Battersby took a 4 on end end and a triple on the other but the set went against them 9,7 and Holt and Cann go through to face Scotland’s David Gourlay and England’s Mervyn King. Another tough match on the cards.
