Harlow denies chestney a place in the semi finals

8 November, 2018

Last match of the day was between two England Top players, World No 1, Greg Harlow and World No. 7, Jamie Chestney and was a much anticipated match. Both top players and both used to the portable and it was Chestney that opened up proceedings taking the first four ends, all with singles to take a 4,0 lead. Then it seemed as if a whirlwind had appeared as Harlow took a double and then a treble count to set the score at 4,5 in his favour in end six. Chestney was bowling superbly and it was all that Harlow could do to manage to get two singles away in ends seven and eight and a little bit of the old Harlow luck came into play on the final end as he took a final count of two to clinch the set 4,9.

Into the second set and it was all square at 4 all going into the fifth end. Chestney again battled away and yet again it was Harlow that played the right shots and got that bit of Haarlow luck as he took the next two ends with single counts to go to a 4,6 lead. Chestney came out of end seven with a double count and it was all square at 6 apiece. Again it was Harlow that came away from very tight and hard ends to take two singles and again the set went Harlow’s way 6,8. Harlow had booked his place in tomorrow’s semi finals.
