In the first of today’s semi finals it was England’s Nick Brett against Scotland’s David Gourlay and what a stunning match that was. In the first set it was bowl for bowl and set tied at 6th end 5 all, this continued and it was Gourlay lost it by 1 point 8-7. In the second set though Gourlay picked up a gear slammed into the set going 9-1 up by the 6th - this does not distract from fantastic bowls from Brett that just did not carry the lucky angel with them, then the luck and skill returned as Brett made a recovery but to no avail as this time it was Gourlay that took the second set by 1. Into the tie break and it all went Gourlay’s way as he took the first two ends and match. 8-7, 8-9, 0-2
