In another great Quarter final it was Scotland’s Paul Foster MBE up against England’s Nick Brett and it certainly lived up to expectations. Both players have the knowledge and experience on the portable rink and neither player got away from the other to start with. By end five it was a mere 3 all but it was Foster that took the first big score with a treble on end 6 to take a 6,3 lead. Brett immediately set about regaining it and managed to take a hard fought single on end seven but then Foster played to his full brilliance and took two singles away from Brett on the next two ends to take the first set 4,8.
Into the second set and it was Brett again that took the first end with a superb single, then Foster unleashed his top performance as he took the next three ends with a total of another 6 shots to go 1,6 up. Brett was still playing really well and he took a double off Foster on end five making the scoreline 3,6. Foster piled on the pressure with another double on end six and only allowed Brett a single in the eight end leaving Brett with a mountain to climb. With Foster taking another single on end eight it was game over for Brett.
