Despite being very unwell the with the flu Ellen had said that she would at least try to play as she did not want to disappoint the audience or indeed her opponent. It became very obvious that she was more than unwell through the duration of the beginning of the first set but Ellen persevered.
Chloe was playing very well and Ellen could not find any response and was clearly in difficulty and took the brave decision to call the rink official and to say that she was not fit enough to continue. Chloe Watson was disappointed to win by default but it is Chloe that goes through as Champion for 2018. The first set was played to a proper finish which went 1,15 to young Watson.
