In the first match of the afternoon here at Potters Resort in the ‘Just’ World Indoor Pairs it was the new kids on the block, Jamie Chestney and Mark Dawes up against the top seeds of Robert Paxton and Jonathan Ross in the 3rd quarter final.
It was a tight fought match and in the first set by end 5 it was 3 across with Chestney and Dawes taking a double on end 6 leaving Paxton and Ross needing 2 to level or 3 to win the set. It was Paxton & Ross that only got a single and was set to Chestney & Dawes.
Into the second set and Chestney & Dawes took a quick treble on the first end, with Paxton and Ross taking a single on each of the nest two ends. End 4 and Chestney & Dawes took another double, then lost a single on the next and then yet another treble on the 6th to go 6-3 up leaving Paxton and Ross requiring a 6 to take the set and force a tie break. It was not to be so the young guns of Chestney and Dawes take their place in tomorrows semi finals in the second match of the afternoon.
