In the first match of the day here at Blackpool Newton Hall in the Co-operative Funeralcare International Open between Scotland’s Darren Burnett and England’s Billy Jackson it was an on form Burnett that took Jackson unawares. In the first set Burnett honed in on the jack and kept Jackson away from it to go 7-1 up by the 5th end. Jackson managed to grab a single in the 6th end but that was all and Burnett took the first set 10-2. Into the second set and Jackson managed a double on the first end but again an on form Burnett did not let him back into the fray and Burnett closed out the second set and match with a scoreline of 10-2, 9-3
