The last game of the day featured the World No1 Nick Brett and World No15 Les Gillett. Brett dominated in the first set taking a 4-1 lead and then consolidating that throughout by picking up counts of two shots to Gilletts single’s. Final set score 9-4 to Brett.
The second set Gillet held Brett to 3-3 after five ends. Then at 5-5 after seven ends the crowd were treated to a superb take out bowl by Brett to put him two up playing the final end. With one bowl to go Gillet had a shot on, not easy, but the only shot to make a three to take us into a tie break. When the dust settled it was World No1 Brett who took the tie 4-9 5-8 and takes the final place in tomorrow’s quarter final line up where he will face his pairs partner Greg Harlow.
