The third semi final of the day pitted two very good friends against each other. Scottish International Open Champion Greg Harlow played Nick Brett World No1. The first set Brett kept his nose in front all the way, even though some of the ends were close it was the World No1 who played a superb answer to each one of Harlow’s bowls, taking the last three ends of a very close set with two doubles and a single to close out Harlow from the 1st set 3-9
After three ends of the second set Brett held a 3-1 lead against his good friend. But friendships disappear when a World Championship title chance are on the cards and its punch for punch from the two Cambridge players as Harlow responded taliking a double and then a count of three to go 6-5 up in the 6th end. Going into the final end of the set and Harlow led by one 7-6. All down to the last end. If Brett gets shot he would take the game. If Harlow takes the end we move into a tie break. It then all came down to the last bowl Harlow misses and it was Brett that won the end and takes the third semi-final place in tomorrow’s line up with a final scoreline of 3-9, 7-7
