Second to last match of the day was between PBA Qualifier Perry Martin and World 15 Andy Thomson MBE. The first few ends went the way of Thomson and by end six it was looking like a Thomson first set as the scoreline read 6,2 and he looked in command of the rink. Then it seemed as if Martin had a kick and he took the remaining three ends of the set with a triple, then a double and finished with a single to take the first set 6-8.
Into the second set and both players were playing really well and there was not a lot to choose between them. By the fifth end it was all level at 4 all. Two shots each in the next two ends and it became 6 all. Then Martin went ahead in the eight end with a triple count and despite all that Thomson could do he finished off in style with a double to take the match 6-8, 6-11.
