Second match of the day was Scotland’s Stewart Anderson up against the World No 1, Nick Brett. It was Anderson that started off well going 4-2 up by the 4th end of the 1st set. Brett then took a double but it was Anderson that just edged Brett in play as he took the next 3 ends to extend his lead to 10-2. With Brett playing good bowls it was Anderson that was really in top form as he sealed the first set 10-3.
Into the second set and it was the same story, Anderson was simply bowling some terrific bowls and kept Brett out of it. At 3 all in the 4th end it was Anderson that then just kept Brett from scoring anything else - not that Brett played badly at all - in fact the crowd were enthralled with the standard of play from both players - just that Anderson was really playing at the top of his form as he powered his way to a second set and match win 8-3
