Anderson and dawes in superb battle for the last place in the final

10 March, 2017

Blackpool’s Mark Dawes faced off against Scotland’s Stewart Anderson for the remaining place in todays final here at Newton Hall Holiday Park in the Co-op Funeralcare International Open and what a match that turned out to be. Dawes was on top form as he powered into the first set and just did not let Anderson get a real look in during the first set which Dawes took at 9-4.

Anderson dug deep, stayed calm and held off Dawes in the second set and just kept plugging away. The standard of bowls was superb between them both and it really was a case of nip and tuck between them. It was Anderson that took the set by simply 1 shot to force a tie break 5-6. The tie break was amazing bowling from both as they played inch perfect bowls and it was Anderson that took the tie break by 2 ends to 1. This match is a must see on www.youtube.com/worldbowlstour when you want to see some top class action from two great bowlers of this event.
