Young gun Fleming not quite enough for Foster

9 November, 2015

Game one of the afternoDSC_0120on pitched World No2 and Scottish hero Paul Foster against Scottish Young gun John Fleming. The first set the 19 year old from Greenock, Fleming, who qualified out in Belfast, held his hero all the way. The scores level after 7 ends at 7.7, but it was Foster who finished the set by winning both ends eight and nine and took the first set 10.7.

In the second set Fleming held the score 4-1 after five ends only to see Foster win the next two ends to square the second set up at 4.4. A count of two shots at end eight put him in the driving seat going into the last end nervous stuff for Fleming as he held one with one bowl to come. He wasn’t able to change the count and we saw the World No2 Foster safely into the second round here in Perth. 10.7. 6.5.
